There seems to be a lot of time wasted when it comes to this kind of stuff. Command line looks cool and impressive, but there's a reason we have a mouse. I eventually came to another site with command line instructions to install a usb startup disk. Another link went to a page where you could possibly download it but there were no steps on how to extract and install it. But the article was old and the download link went nowhere. After doing some searching, I came across a thread for USB-Creator. Xubuntu doesn't have a built-in app to create bootable usb drives like Mint where you just right-click an ISO file and select 'make bootable'. Package managers have definitely been a step in the right direction but even then, something could be missing and require some weird way to install if you can even find it. But man, it doesn't make it easy and I feel this is why it won't be the household desktop OS. I like Linux because of its different versions and because of how it can be customized.
